Good Morning,
I am sad to say that the end of the 2010-2011 school is here. I am going to extremely miss my 4th graders. I have grown very close to each and everyone of them. As for my 3rd grade, I am glad I will get them back for another year. I have seen such growth over the past year with all of my students. They have grown into young adolescences and I am very proud of them in very way. I have seen them work very hard throughout the year, not just academically but also socially with learning to solve problems on their own. This group of students was a terrific class and it makes me very sad to see them go.
Please make sure you have your child read over the summer months. This is extremely important! Children will lose 1/3 of what they have learned over the summer if they do not practice. Keep a set of flash cards to go through every now and then. Read daily with your child, the local library has amazing summer programs. Play boardgames with adding, subtracting, and reading. These are just a few ideas to keep active over the summer.
I look forward to seeing everyone again next year. I hope you have a wonderful summer. I will miss all of you greatly.
I want to give my room helpers a big "Thanks" for all the hard work you did for me to help keep me prepared. You guys were awesome. Thanks Michelle, Jamie, and Tammy! You guys rock!
