Skill /j/ and /f/

Reading grades 3/4  - AR required points for 3^rd  quarter is 15 point.  3 points in nonfiction, 3 points Native American, and 9 points fiction.
This week we will start the novel, “The Whipping Boy”.  This is a difficult book for the students but lots of fun!  We create some great art projects with this novel.  The setting is in Middle Ages and the language is Old English.  It is a difficult read that really challenges the students, but they will love it.  

Math 3rd grade

This week we are reviewing place value up to 100,000, which will lead into addition and subtraction up to 4 digits.  There will be two nights of homework to make sure the students understand the concept.  I will give them time in class to work in it but if they do not finish it will come home.

We are still working on multiplication with 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.  The flash cards will still be coming home nightly to help your child memorize these facts.  Please go over these flashcards, then sign and date the parent sheet. 

Please have your class bring these flash cards to school.  We will be working on them in class.

Social Studies 3rd and 4th grade  We are learning about different regions of the United States.  We are creating a book that contains information about the different region and states.  Students should not have homework.  They are given time in class to do their assignment.  If they do have homework it is because they did not finish it in class.  Please check your child's planner nightly.
