Spelling Words:                

No spelling words this week.  Spelling with start next week.

 

Reading Class  - AR required points for 1st quarter is 10 point. 

This week in Reading our class will be investigating Hawks.  While doing this we will be working on the parts of speech.  At the end of the week, the students will have created a poem that describes our investigation.

Math Class                                 

My Math class is learning all about base ten and place value.  Here are somethings we will be focusing on:

ü Place Value to the 10,000

ü Rounding

ü Greater than, less than, and equal to

ü Expanded form and Standard form of numbers

ü Writing and Reading numbers in the 10,000 range

 

        Science

I will be teaching your child about Earth Science for the next six weeks.  This week we will be learning about the layers of Earth, rocks, weathering, and erosion.   I will send home a study guide for the first test on Wednesday the 29^th.  This study guide should have everything your child will need to know for the test.  The test will be Wednesday, Sept. 5^th.
