Reading Class - AR required points for 2nd quarter is 15
point. (5 of the 15 points have to be non-fiction.)
This week in Reading our class will be working
hard on dictionary skills (guide words, multiple meanings, etc..) and ABC order
(alphabetizing to the 3rd letter).
We will also keep working on how to write a paragraph correctly. We have been practicing writing a main idea
sentence, 3 to 4 supporting detailed sentences, and a closing sentence that
restates the main idea.
Math Class
My Math class is learning all about 2 and 3
digit addition with regrouping. We are
also working on recalling our 1 digit addition facts quickly. Every day we will be taking a 3 minute fact
timing. The students will be rewarded
for passing each timing.
Science
The science classes have switched
teachers. I will now be teaching Earth
science to Mrs. Staffileno’s homeroom.
Mr. Leintz will be teaching physical science to my homeroom and Mrs.
Staffileno will be teaching Life science to Mr. Leintz’s homeroom.
I will be teaching your child about Earth
Science for the next six weeks. This
week our class will be learning all about the solar system. We will be creating a fact-filled flipbook. This is a fun activity for the students.
