Mrs. McMorris September 9th-13th ·      Tuesday  Folders will go home September 10th, please sign and return them September 11th. ·      Coupon books sales September 3rd-23rd   Spelling Words:                 Skill: /ay/ and the /ai/ say long a sound pathway   waist        pigtail       maintain  midday    rapid                backspin haystack  milkman   railway    panic       strain       midway    mailman mainsail Reading Class  - AR required points for 1st quarter is 10 point.    This week in Reading our class will be starting a Flat Stanley novel, Stanley Flat, Again!  While reading this we will be working on answering comprehension questions in complete sentences, synonyms, sequencing, predictions, and the concept of friendship, along with character traits and character goals.     Math Class                                  My Math class is learning all about base ten and place value.  Here are some things we will be focusing on: ü Place Value to the 10,000 ü Rounding ü Greater than, less than, and equal to ü Expanded form and Standard form of numbers ü Writing and Reading numbers in the 10,000 range   Science I will be teaching your child about Earth Science for the next 6 weeks.  This week the class will be learning about landforms, layers of the Earth, rocks/fossils, weathering, and erosion.  Your child will be receiving a study guide for their test that is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, September 11th.  The study guides will come home Thursday, September 5th.   Specials this Week!                                             Monday-Library                 Tuesday-P.E.                         Wednesday-Music                                 Thursday-Library                                         Friday-Health   Visit this site weekly for new updates.  Please check your child’s planner nightly.
