Conference Week

November 4^th - November 8^th     

·      Tuesday Folders will go home November 5th, please sign and return them Wednesday, November 6th.

·      Parent-Teacher Conferences Wednesday, November 6^th from 3:00 to 7:00 and Thursday, November 7^th  from 1:00 to 7:00.

·      Thursday, November 7^th early out @ 1:00

·      NO SCHOOL Friday, November 8^th

 

Spelling Words:

No spelling this week due to the short week.  We will be working on handwriting during this time.

 

Reading Class  - AR required points for 2nd quarter is 12 point. 

This week in Reading our class will finish reading the novel, Lumber Camp Library.  We will be creating a project for the Plot of the story.

 

Math Class 

My Math class is learning all about missing addends and 2 step story problems.  Here are some things we will be focusing on:

·       2 step story problems with 3 –digit Regrouping (combination of addition and subtraction)

·       2 minute Timings on single digit addition and subtraction facts

 

Science

Ø Mrs. Staffileno’s homeroom: I will be teaching your child about Earth Science for the next 5 weeks.  This week the class will be learning about the water cycle and all of its elements.  A test that is tentatively scheduled  for Tuesday, November 5th.  The study guides were handed out last Wednesday, October 30th.

Ø We will then start our unit on our solar system and the phases of the moon.

Ø Mrs. McMorris’ homeroom will be in Mr. Leintz’s science class for the next 5 weeks learning about physical science.
