Reading Class - AR required points for 1st quarter is 10
point.
This week in Reading our class will continue reading
the novel, Lumber Camp Library.
The class will be working on higher level thinking questions, story
elements, DOL, and special plurals (nouns). The class is creating a book that
uses the rules of plural nouns.
Math Class
My Math class is learning all about estimation
and regrouping in addition. Here are some
things we will be focusing on:
· 3
–digit Regrouping with combination of addition and subtraction (watching for
signs)
· Adding
and subtracting money with story problems
· 2
minute Timings on single digit addition
and subtraction facts
· Missing
addends
· Story
Problems with addition and subtraction (multiple steps)
Science
Ø Mrs.
Staffileno’s homeroom: I will be teaching your child about Earth Science for
the next 6 weeks. This week the class
will be learning about landforms, layers of the Earth, rocks/fossils,
weathering, and erosion. Your child will be receiving a study guide for their
test that is tentatively scheduled
for Thursday, October 24rd .
The study guides will be coming home Monday, October 21st.
Ø Mrs.
McMorris’ homeroom will be in Mr. Leintz’s science class for the next 6 weeks
learning about physical science.
