End of 2nd quarter is January 23rd.

·      Tuesday folders will go home on the 21st , please return them on the 22nd.

·      NO SCHOOL Monday, January 20th

·      End of 2nd quarter Thursday, January 23th-Report cards will go home Friday, January 31st.

 

Spelling Words:

No spelling this week due to the short week.  Our class will be working on cursive handwriting.

Reading Class  - AR required points for 2nd quarter is 12 point. 

This week in reading our class will be working on unit 9 in our English books.  This unit contains: capitalization, punctuation, abbreviations, book titles, commas, and quotation marks.  We will also continue the nonfiction novel Who was Marco Polo?  We will be concentrating on nonfiction novels for the next few months.

 

Math Class 

My Math class this week is focusing on multiplication.  We will also start our timings for Rocket Math.

·       Arrays for multiplication

·       Timings (Rocket Math)

·       Multiplication facts with factors of 0,1,2, 3, 4, 6 and 7

·       Story problems with multiplication

·       Using a number for multiplication

·       Flash cards will start to come home every night to practice.  Please sign the parent signature sheet so your child can receive credit for homework.

 

Social Studies

I will have my homeroom for Social Studies for the next 6 weeks.  The class will be learning all about communities and the 3 branches of government.  We will be creating a community book that follows the standards for this subject.  We will also be studying the history of Billings during this time.
