First week of Spelling

Reading Class  - AR required points for 1st quarter is 10 point. 

  This week in Reading our class will be starting a Flat Stanley novel, Stanley Flat, Again!  While reading this we will be working on answering comprehension questions in complete sentences, synonyms, sequencing, predictions, and the concept of friendship, along with character traits and character goals.  

 

Math Class                                 

My Math class is learning all about base ten and place value.  Here are some things we will be focusing on:

ü Place Value to the 10,000

ü Rounding

ü Greater than, less than, and equal to

ü Expanded form and Standard form of numbers

ü Writing and Reading numbers in the 10,000 range

 

Science

I will be teaching your child about Earth Science for the next 6 weeks.  This week the class will be learning about landforms, layers of the Earth, rocks/fossils, weathering, and erosion.  Your child has received a study guide for their test that is tentatively  scheduled for Tuesday, September 16^th.
