End of First Quarter

·      Please return your conference slip if you have not done so already so.

Reading Class  - AR required points for 2nd quarter is 15 point. 

This week in Reading our class will be continuing the novel, Lumber Camp Library.  The class will be working on higher level thinking skills, sequencing, cause and effect, story elements, and DOL.  We will also continue our unit on verbs.

 

Math Class 

My Math class is learning all about counting equal groups and relating that skill to multiplication.  We will also be working on skip counting and problem solving. The class will start their multiplication unit soon.  During this unit they are required to study their multiplication flash cards nightly.  This is for credit.  Please sign your child’s flash card parent signature sheet every night and return it to school on Wednesdays along with their reading logs.

 

Science

Ø Mr. Leintz’s homeroom: I will be teaching your child about Earth Science for the next 4 weeks.  This week the class will finish our unit of the water cycle with a test on Monday, November 10th.  A study guide went home Monday, November 3rd.  Then we will be starting our unit on the solar system.

Ø Mrs. McMorris’ homeroom will be in Mrs. Staffileno’s science class for the next 4 weeks learning about Earth science.
