Reading Class  - AR required points for 2nd quarter is 15 point. 

My Reading class is starting their non-fiction unit.  We will be reading many short stories on Famous Americans during this time.  This unit also includes vocabulary skills, comprehension questions, English skills, and sequencing.

Math Class 

My Math class is learning about division.  They will be learning all the different strategies to help them with their division facts.  During this unit they are required to study their multiplication and division flash cards nightly.  This is for credit.  Please sign your child’s flash card parent signature sheet every night and return it to school on Wednesdays along with their reading logs.

 

Science

• Mr. Staffileno’s homeroom: I will be teaching your child about Earth Science for 1 more week.  This week the class will be learning in depth about the solar system and the phases of the moon.  A study guide was sent home on Friday the 16th.  The test is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, January 22nd.
